In Memory of George Edward Heldt

George Edward Heldt of Washington Township died Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at his home at the age of 59 years.

George was born January 16, 1951 in Mt. Clemens, a son of Russell Edward and Emma Lorraine (nee Haack) Heldt. On September 4, 1976, George married Linda-Ann Holtz in Westlake, Ohio. George was a carpenter and a member of Carpenters Local #1234, the Armada Agricultural Society, the Greater Romeo-Washington Chamber of Commerce and the Tall Clubs International-Detroit Tip Toppers. He also enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling, camping, sudoku, riding bike, avid listener of Coast to Coast, and playing board games and cards with family and friends.

Surviving are his wife, Linda-Ann; father, Russell (Phyllis Hill) Heldt of Ray Township; brothers, Thomas (Karen) Heldt of Memphis and David (Candee) Heldt of Littleton, Colorado; father-in-law, Robert Holtz of Avon, Ohio; brother-in-law, James (Kathy Balski) Holtz of Avon, Ohio; sister-in-law, Debra Jean (Michael) Udowski of Avon, Ohio; nieces and nephews. Carl Heldt, Luke Heldt, Stacey (Shawn) Grapes, Michal Udowski and Jamie Holtz; and great nieces, Ashley Grapes and Hailey O’Connor. George was predeceased by his mother, Emma on October 3, 1981; infant sister, Joyce; and mother-in-law, Jean Evelyn Holtz on May 15, 2002.

A funeral service took place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Tiffany-Young and Hauss Funeral Home, 73919 North Avenue (north of 33 Mile), Armada. Pastor Bob Bryant of Stoneridge Church, Washington Township, will officiate. Burial followed in Meade Cemetery, Macomb Township.

Visitation was Monday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made for family wishes.
